Best Earbuds with Mic in 2022

19 Best Earbuds with Mic in 2022

Whether you’re working out, gaming, or just listening to some tunes on the move you need to take a look at my wise words. I’ve spent hours scouring the web for 19 of the best that the market has to offer, and now you can reap the rewards of my hard work. When it comes to shopping for tech purchases it can be hard to know where to start; I know the feeling. With plenty of manufacturers and models out there how do you know which ones to trust?

Well, that’s where my guide comes in. Because I’ve personally used every single entry on this list, I can vouch for their quality. That means that all you have to do is read through and decide which one sounds like the right fit for you. If that doesn’t sound like a good deal, then I don’t know what will.

Best Earbuds Wireless With Mic

1. Otium Wireless Sports Earphones w Mic IPX7 Waterproof HD Stereo Sweatproof

Otium has been receiving a lot of press in recent months which is why I couldn’t wait to put them through their paces. Here’s how they got on when yours truly put them to the ultimate test.

Sweat-proof buds are designed for those of you who love to train hard

The design of the buds is simple yet effective. That allowed them to stay in place no matter how much of a sweat I worked up. There was also no drop off in audio quality as my workout intensified which was very pleasing, to say the least.

8-hours of battery life is more than enough for any situation

The battery life is more than I expected and is a realistic spec. There’s nothing silly like you have to have your volume right down if you want them to last this long. They reached the eight-hour mark comfortably and with no fall off in volume.

The simple control allows you to do everything you need with a couple of clicks

The controls that these come with is effortless to use and very ergonomically designed which is pleasing. I found that after about an hour, it was second nature to reach for it without looking when I was busy concentrating on something else. Ideal if you want your new tech to integrate seamlessly into your life. Highly recommended for those of you that place usability right at the top of your list of things you can’t do without!

Integrates easily with your phone via Bluetooth

I’m going to leave the final word to the issue of Bluetooth integration. Now, during my time with them, I found that I didn’t have a single problem which delighted me. Too many good pairs of headphones fall foul of the integration issue because they drop out from time to time. Not these though; so take a look if you like the sound of them (no pun intended).

2. Bose SoundSport Free Truly Wireless Sport Headphones

No introduction to the world of headphones would be complete without an offering from Bose so who better to kick things off with? The SoundSport buds have received a lot of hype in recent weeks so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a pair.

Wireless sports headphones that stay in place when you’re on the move

These are sports headphones first and foremost. That means that they’re built to stay in place no matter what you’re doing. The molding is innovative and sticks in your ear without feeling like it has been rammed in there. This is ideal for those of you who’re prone to an earache after extended use.

Sweat and water resistant so that you can go anywhere and listen to anything

The fact that they’re both sweat and water resistant is excellent news for those of you who love to stay active. They won’t get damaged by a splash of water, and they won’t suddenly slip out if you’re pushing the limits in the summer sun. Job done in that regard.

5-hours of play time between charges is enough for most activities

The 5 hour time could always be longer; there’s no getting away from that. That said, you could always say that, couldn’t you, regardless of how long the playing time was! If you want something that will last for the duration of your workout and then recharge nice and quickly then this is it. Look no further folks!

‘Find My Buds’ feature is a clever little addition that I really like

The final thing to say is that the ‘find my buds’ app is really a cool bit of tech. It allows you to keep an eye on your buds which is great news if you’re forgetful. If one were ever to slip out when you’re cycling or running miles from home, then it’s a great tool to have at your disposal. It’s basically the headphone equivalent of the super handy find my iPhone feature Apple has been using for years. I think you’re going to love it!

3. Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones

Next on my list is a second entry from the team at Bose. To say they know their headphones would be an understatement so get ready for more entries from these guys!

Bose active EQ balances your audio across the entire volume range

The balance of a pair of headphones may be a little bit technical for some, but it makes all the difference to the final sound. To put it simply, if you want to turn up your volume without distortion or weird effects dominating the sound you need balance. The EQ system that Bose has developed does a great job of this in my opinion.

Bluetooth pairing is so quick and easy that even I managed to handle it!

Bluetooth is the secret ingredient to any pair of wireless headphones because it’s what allows you to connect to your phone. If you want your tech to work straight out of the box, then, these should be a definite contender on your shortlist. I found the Bluetooth connectivity to be super simple and it just never dropped out. It was so refreshing to see these two common issues solved in one fell swoop that I’d recommend these buds for that reason alone!

The Stay Hear+ tips keep your buds in place no matter what you’re doing

The tips are super comfortable which is good news for those of you who hold comfort above all else. They never fell out of my ears; even when I was really working up a sweat by pounding the treadmill for 10 miles! Highly recommended for those of you in the market for a comfort fit.

6-hour battery life is more than enough for most activities that you’ll get up to

The 6-hour battery life is something that will allow you to enjoy most activities against a soundtrack of your favorite tunes. It was more than enough for me, and it recharged super quick. Highly recommend in this respect too!

4. Bose QuietControl 30 Wireless Headphones

So far my list has been something of a shutout for Bose and that trend continues as they make it three in a row. Here’s how their next offering got on when I put it through its paces…

Noise cancellation is a neat piece of technology that I now can’t do without!

Noise cancellation is a smart piece of tech that gets the job done. It works by using an FFT to mimic the ambient noise in real-time and then emit canceling sounds that block out background noise. It’s really clever, and it makes a huge difference. Wear them in the gym, and you’ll barely hear the humming of the AC or the whirring noise the treadmills make.

Bluetooth range of 10 m means you don’t need your phone on you in the gym

I do love the fact that the Bluetooth range reaches as far as 10 meters. For you, it means that if you want to go and pump some iron in the gym, you don’t have to have your phone in your pocket. If you’re going to really go hard, then you can put your phone in your bag on the floor and get down to some seriously hard work. Ideal for those of you who want to exercise in comfort without your tech getting in the way.

Neckband helps keep everything in place and is super comfortable too!

The neckband is a clever way of keeping your buds in place. It’s a comfortable fit and has apparently been designed with a lot of thought. Again, great news for those of you who place comfort right at the top of your list of priorities that you just can’t do without.

It comes with a Li-ion battery onboard, but what did I think of the battery life?

The battery life is a mighty impressive 10 hours which is enough for your workout and then a day out in the city straight after. Ideal if you want to make sure you’re never without your favorite tunes as you unwind on the weekends.

5. Sobetter Bluetooth Headphones Wireless

‘Finally a break in the Bose offerings’ I hear you say! These buds from Sobetter were a new one for me, but I couldn’t wait to take a look at how they went about things.

Noise canceling technology will make all the difference to your experience

Noise cancellation is such cool technology because it allows you to enjoy your music without fuss. These got rid of most of the background noise and did just as good a job as pairs from more established names. A beautiful little piece of engineering that comes highly recommended from yours truly.

Bluetooth compatibility was quick and hassle-free: just how I like it!

Bluetooth compatibility and integration is where many sports headphones usually fall down, but not these. They were quick and easy to setup, and I had them up and running in just a couple of minutes after unboxing. That is ideal for me because I get annoyed when something simple doesn’t work. I think you’ll find the setup refreshingly simple and easy to handle. This also makes them perfect for those of you who aren’t the most confident with your tech but want to enter the world of wireless headphones. Highly recommended by me to you my friends!

7-hour battery life is more than enough for most applications

With 7-hours of battery life, these headphones are sure to be right there by your side no matter what you decide to do with your day. That is ideal news for those of you who love to get outside and workout before heading into the city to meet up with your friends. They’ll keep blasting out your favorite tunes without any hassle which is incredible in my opinion. The recharging time is nice and quick too!

Voice prompt will even read out the incoming phone number that’s dialing you!

I really fell in love with the innovative voice prompt feature, because it even read out the number dialing me. This is great because it meant I didn’t have to stop what I was doing and pull my phone out of my bag. I think that’s perfect if you want to be able to keep your hands free when you’re on the move.

Best In-Ear Earbuds With Mic

6. Tuscom In-Ear Wireless Earphones, Mini TWS Twins Bluetooth Stereo Headset

These guys were a new name to me that piqued my interest. As soon as the box landed on my porch, I knew I was in for something rather special. Here’s how their latest creation got on when I put it through its paces.

6-hours of talk time is great for when you’re on the move

I must say that the talk time was again totally usable. For me, 6-hours is perfect if you want to be able to talk hands-free when driving. That makes them ideal for those of you who have a long commute each day but want to start making your calls early. There’s also more than enough battery life to ensure you still have power left to listen to some tunes. Perfect for those of you who love to stop by the gym on the way home to blow off some steam!

Noise elimination is excellent for those of you who want a great audio experience

Noise elimination is similar to noise canceling; well, the end result is the same anyway. By eliminating ambient noise, these buds allow you to hear the person calling you or enjoy your music so much more. That is particularly good if you plan on using them when you’re driving down the highway or working up a sweat in a busy gym. Personally, I think that once you try noise elimination, you’ll never be able to do without it again. Highly recommended for the most discerning of ears.

Simple connection over Bluetooth was refreshingly easy for an advanced piece of tech

Bluetooth connectivity is the foundation of every pair of wireless buds or headphones. The issues start to arise when it turns out to be more hassle than it’s worth. Unfortunately, this is all too common for many of us. With your buds continually disconnecting you’re faced with no choice but to fish your phone out of your bag or pocket and start fiddling. Luckily I experienced no such issues with these buds which is one of the primary reasons why I recommend them so strongly to you!

7. Sentry Premium Pro Series Folding Retractable Wireless Stereo Neck Headset

Sentry has been on my list of manufacturers to try forever and a day so it was awesome when I finally got the chance. Take a look for yourself and see if they’re worthy of making it onto your own shortlist…

A neck headset with a difference, but do you really need one?

Neck headsets are very much on-trend right now and with good reason. They offer you style and comfort, but best of all they ensure your buds always stay in place. I found this particularly useful when running. Too often the bouncing up and down allows buds to work loose, but with a neckband, I experienced no such issues. A very well thought out piece of design.

Control buttons are easily accessible and great for when you’re on the move

The control buttons are easy to use, and you don’t have to stare at them to hit the right option. That means that you can quickly reach for your control and skip a track without having to think about it, really. Ideal if you don’t want your music to break up your workout and create those stop-start moments that allow you to unwittingly, get your breath back.

Works smoothly with just about any phone or MP3 player

The integration with other devices was so comfortable that I want to take this opportunity to highlight it. I had no issues with connecting them to any of the half a dozen or so phones or MP3 players that I tried it with. An awesome piece of tech that made the whole process nice and simple. Highly recommended, especially for those of you who are a little averse to fiddling with your tech to get the best out of it.

More than enough charge to get you through the day

The charge time was surprisingly short which meant you could easily power them up over breakfast if you forgot to leave them going overnight. Due to the battery size, you can listen to your favorite tracks all day long without having to ration your charge. The whole package is also light-weight enough that you barely notice you’re wearing it. I don’t want to pick a favorite because I want you to make up your own mind, but these have to be right up there.

8. Anker SoundBuds Slim Wireless Headphones Bluetooth 4.1 Lightweight Stereo IPX5 Earbuds

Anker is the next entry on my list as we pass through the halfway point. Here’s what I thought of them when I threw them in at the deep end.

6 mm drivers give a crisp and clean sound that you can take with you anywhere

The 6 mm drivers are fast becoming something of an Anker hallmark. With a precise and compact design, they allow you to enjoy stereo quality sound on the move. I really like this approach because it tells me they haven’t sacrificed quality to shrink down their tech. That is a great sign for all you music lovers out there who just can’t stand the distortion and tinny sound of poor quality buds.

7-hours of playing time is right at the top of the pile from what I’ve seen

The 7-hour playing time caught my eye straight away as I’m always keen to see if there are any caveats. I’m very pleased to say that in this case there were none, which means you can expect a minimum of 7 hours playing time. That’s ideal if you want to be able to listen to your music when you’re out all day long.

Water resistant design is great for when you want to get out and enjoy life

The water-resistant design is impressive. It’s important to stress that water resistant is not the same as waterproof. While they will easily cope with a splash of water or some sweat, they shouldn’t be entirely submerged. If you’re happy to work within this constraint, then they’re bulletproof from what I’ve seen. I work my tech pretty hard when I’m out of the house, and these kept up with no issues whatsoever.

I loved the fact they come with a cool looking travel pouch

The travel pouch they come with is a neat touch because it allows you to keep them from getting all knotted. That is a major plus point for me as I often shove my buds in my pocket or the side pocket of my rucksack when I’m not wearing them. A highly recommended piece of tech that I think you’ll instantly fall in love with.

9. Panasonic ErgoFit In-Ear Earbuds Headphones

It may not be the catchiest model name in the world, but with a brand like this making buds how could I not give them a try? Here’s how they got on folks.

Ergo-fit sounds like a good piece of branding, but do they do the job when you’re on the move?

Ergo-fit is a great piece of design in my opinion. By creating a molding that’s perfect for almost any ear shape these little buds give you a comfort-fit that’s right up there. What I really like is how easy they are to get in and out. There’s no ramming them in to try and keep them in place; they just sit pretty all day if my experience is anything to go by.

Stereo quality audio allows you to listen in style no matter where you are

The quality of the sound is what really blew me away. I’m a big music lover, and I hate clipped or distorted music. These provided no such issues, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to you in this respect.

Extra-long cord allows you to listen in comfort; I loved it!

The cord length is something that lets a lot of buds down. Too long and it just gets in the way, too short and they’re forever being tugged out of your ears. I thought Panasonic got these spot on which is important news for those of you who love to listen to your music on the move.

Nickel plated connector sounds good, but do you need it?

The nickel plated connector may sound like a bit of a marketing ploy, but it actually is an excellent piece of engineering. Often when you get a little knick or scratch on your connector, it will subtly change your audio quality. By coating, the important bit with nickel Panasonic has found a way to make their connectors more robust. First class engineering in my opinion guys!

10. VddSmm Earphones In-Ear Headphones Earbuds

Another new name on my radar rounds off the first ten entries on my list. Take a look at the wise words that follow and see what you think folks!

Mic and volume control are easily accessible which is a nice user-friendly touch

The controls and the mic are well positioned for when you’re on the move. I found the positioning of the mic was ideal for making calls which is great when you’re driving. The controller was also very easy to use and well thought out. The buttons on it were ergonomic and straightforward which allowed me to get to grips with it in just a couple of minutes. This is ideal for those of you who just want your tech to integrate into your life straight out of the box.

They come with three sets of silicone tips which is an interesting approach

Now, this is a fresh development that it will be interesting to see whether it takes off. With three different sizes of tips, they offer everyone the chance to get the perfect fit. What could be better than that guys?

Gold plated audio jack: is it needed or not?

The gold plating does make a noticeable difference that the more discerning of you will appreciate. If you don’t want to compromise one iota, then gold plating is undoubtedly the best way forward. It’ll allow you to sample the full dynamic range of your player as you sit back and relax.

A 12-month warranty is an excellent sign for lovers of customer service

For those of you that love customer service and support then this is sure to be a big plus point. With so many companies out there leaving you to your own devices the moment you part with your cash, this was a welcome relief. I phoned them a few times, and they were courteous, helpful, and best of all highly knowledgeable. That allowed me to get to grips with things in no time at all and I would highly recommend them to you without a moment’s hesitation.

11. Symphonized NRG 3.0 Earbuds Wood In-ear Noise-isolating Headphones

When you think about innovative design, these guys have to be at the top of your list. I’ve heard great things about them, so I wanted to hear if they can produce great things!

A wooden casing is sure to catch the eye, but is it up to standard?

The idea of using wood is indeed a new one to me, but it absolutely does do the job quite well. Not only does it look good, but it doesn’t dampen or muffle the sound in any way. This is great for those of you who love your tech to look as good as it sounds and functions. Highly recommended for those of you with a stylish streak in you.

In-ear canal design is an interesting approach to noise cancellation

I love the in-ear design because it allows you to cancel out so much of the background noise. That is ideal if you want to enjoy audio on the move without having to crank up the volume too much. I also think that once you try it, you’ll never want to be without it again. It really is that big of a game changer when it comes to clean audio.

The volume control is easy to use and well thought out

I loved the volume control because it was ergonomic and comfortable to use. It’s mounted in just the right place which allows you to change tracks without diverting your attention. That is perfect if you want to workout in the gym or run in the park. A great little piece of design that goes a long way to improving the entire user experience in my opinion.

Works with every device I could throw at it!

I must have tried half a dozen devices, young and old, with these buds and it worked with them all. That’s great news for those of you who love their tech when it works straight out of the box. There are no annoying compatibility issues that throw a spanner in the works after the unboxing. Just simple integration that gets the job done without any fuss. Just what you need when you want to enjoy your favorite tunes!

Best Earbuds With Mic for Iphone

12. Apple MD827LLA EarPods with Remote and Mic

Apple may be the kings of the smartphone world, but how do their headphones compare? Let’s take a look at how the famous EarPods stack up against the rest of the completion on this list.

Enhanced bass is a nice idea, but did I really notice a discernible difference?

The bass is powerful on these buds; something that’s particularly impressive given how small and lightweight they are. If you want your tech to do exactly what it says on the box, then these are a great little contender to make it onto your shortlist. For fans of old-school rock or powerful electronic dance music, I’d highly recommend them. Perfect for getting yourself pumped up for your latest session in the gym.

Mic and controller allow you to quickly and easily answer calls when you’re on the move

The mic is well positioned, and the controller is ergonomically designed. Together they will enable you to quickly and easily take calls when you’re on the move without having to reach into your pocket for your phone. I actually like the way you skip forwards, backward, or pause when listening to music. There’s isn’t a vast variety of buttons; just one whose function changes depending on how many times you tap it. Great for instantly getting to grips with your latest tech addition.

Sweat and water resistant which makes them an interesting option for gym users

The great thing about the EarPods is that they’re built to last. Whether you’re hiking outdoors and caught in a downpour, or working up a sweat in the gym, they won’t become damaged by a little moisture. That makes them an ideal candidate for your go anywhere, do anything buds that you can always rely on. I used mine in the gym and found that no matter how much of a sweat I worked up on the rowing machine, they stayed in place. Great news for those of you who really love to workout to your favorite tunes!

Best Noise Insulating Earbuds With Mic

13. Skullcandy Ink’d 2.0 Noise-Isolating Earbud

Skullcandy is a seriously cool brand, so I was excited to see how their products performed. Here are my thoughts for your consideration guys!

A cool brand that allows you to kick back and relax in style

The branding is cool, and thankfully the audio quality is able to match it. This means that you’ll be able to kick back and relax with some music as you do your morning commute on the bus or subway. Ideal if you want to start your day with a smile. I liked them a lot and thought you would too!

Noise isolating style is ideal for those of you who are on the move

Noise isolation is something I now can’t do without, after trying these on for size. It’s just so awesome because it drowns out the droning and whirring or traveling or the gym that forces you to crank up the volume. With no background noise, you can keep the volume at a far more reasonable level and enjoy the full range of the music. This is great if you want to improve the quality of the sound while saving your ears!

Simple one-button mic and remote certainly made my life easier

I really liked the one-button mic; it was easy to get to grips with and wasn’t confusing in the slightest. If you want to be able to enjoy your music without having to be forever fishing your phone out of your pocket, then this is a great option. Give it a try, and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by how quickly it integrates into your daily life.

The range of color options allow you to personalize your own style

The final thing to say is how cool it is to have a variety of color options to choose from. This is what these guys are known for, and with good reason. Tech is not all about substance; yes you want it to work, but you want it to look good at the same time don’t you? If you fall into that camp, then I’d suggest a closer look is in order. That way you’ll be able to enjoy your music in a way that makes you look the part. Ideal for those of you who are that little bit cooler than I am!

14. Marsno M1 Wired Metal In-Ear Headphones

In truth, I hadn’t heard of these guys, but that’s not a bad thing. I’m always on the lookout for new names as they often approach things from a different angle. Here are my thoughts on what they’ve produced.

Impressive stereo bass could make all the difference to your listening experience

Bass is something that all you music lovers will love! It’s what turns a song into an instant classic which is why the bass on these is so impressive. Even though they are ‘only’ buds, they allow you to enjoy the full depth of every track. Highly recommended by yours truly.

Precision engineering alloy housing, but is it built to last?

Yes! I can’t be more resounding than that now can I? The great thing about the alloy they’ve used is that it won’t corrode or scratch easily. That means that you’ll be able to take these buds with you wherever life takes you without having to wrap them up in cotton wool to keep them safe. For me, that’s perfect if you want your tech to be worry-free.

One-button control made things nice and easy for me the moment I unboxed

Controls can be overly complicated and just get in the way, in my experience. That’s why the simple one-button approach that these folks put on the table was so pleasing to me. They’ve made things as simple as possible, but not simpler. What I mean by this is that they haven’t sacrificed functionality or controllability to make their control subtle and minimalist. A great piece of design that I think you’ll get to grips with in no time at all.

Lifetime warranty is something that’s nice to see in this day and age

When you want to be confident in your tech, there’s nothing like a lifetime warranty. It’s a great sign that it will last because the manufacturer is clearly standing behind it every step of the way. If this sounds like the kind of commitment to customer service and support you need, then a second look is in order. If you can find a question they can’t help you with then, please let me know; I couldn’t see any and not through want of trying!

15. Actionpie In-ear Headphones Earbuds High-Resolution Heavy Bass

Rounding off my 15 of the best are the intriguingly named Actionpie buds. With a name like that, how could I resist taking a closer look?

6 mm drivers are a great piece of engineering that you’ll come to love

The drivers on these things are a triumph of precision engineering. If you ask me what the foundation of a great pair of buds is, I’m always going to talk to you about drivers. The thought and engineering that has gone into crafting them is impressive, to say the least. Take a step back and listen to some budget headphones and then put these on if you really want to grasp what I’m talking about. Trust me when I say this: these drivers are some of the very best on the market right now folks!

High-frequency suppression is fantastic at making your audio crisper and cleaner than ever

High-frequency noise can add an unwanted background on any track. These buds take care of that by using some smart proprietary technology to block out virtually all of it. The result is a crisp and clean soundtrack no matter where you are. Again, these are ideal, if you are a listener with a particularly discerning ear.

Lightweight design that I took with me to the gym all week long

The design is so lightweight and comfortable to use that you can forget you’re even wearing them. This is ideal for those of you who love to train hard while getting pumped up by some of your favorite tunes. I wore mine to the gym all week, and they never worked themselves loose once. This was particularly impressive considering I did a couple of hour-long treadmill sessions where the sweat was literally pouring off me. A thoughtfully designed product that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to you.

Works with Apple and Android which is nice to see

It’s great to see a pair of buds that aren’t afraid to bridge the Apple-Android divide. That means you can buy one pair and know that they’ll work with virtually any device you choose. So, if all you want to do is try on some new tech for size, then you should definitely consider these as your next purchase.

I hope this rundown of 15 of the best has given you plenty of food for thought. Now it’s over to you, so you better get started on that shortlist folks!

Best New Earbud Models for 2021

16. Anker Soundcore Pro

When it comes to sports headphones, I like those that are ergonomically designed, fairly angled, and come with ear-loop ear hooks that enable the in-ears to be worn in the ear canal and over the ear too. The Anker Soundcore Spirit Pro is a perfect example of that. Here are some other cool features it has:

Seamless Bluetooth connection

In actual tests with various Android and iOS devices, the Soundcore Spirit Pro have often given a reliable connection that can reach a range of up to 10 meters. I got to experience a trouble-free procedure that was feasible across many rooms, giving very pleasing results. All you have to do is hold down the center button to turn the system on and then put it into pairing mode for you to link this sports headset.

It stays in place as you’re on the move

The ergonomic design of this headset ensures that it has a secure hold to the ears such that it cannot fall out even if you have fast, random movements. Weighing at just 18g, the structure also provides weather protection and a comfortable-to-wear fit that can endure for extended lengths of time.

Perfect device control

Everyone always wants a device that is not too complicated. The Soundcore Spirit Pro allows you to use a 3-button remote to operate device operations including answering calls, ending calls, changing volume, playback and choosing music.

Decent sound quality

Anker has never really quite disappointed with their sound devices. This particular pair of headsets offers good sound quality that surpasses even sophisticated demands. Even though the bass is there, the music is just balanced and harmonic, while the mic quality is clear. I can vouch to use them daily or for sports purposes.

17. Sony MDRXB50AP Extra Bass Earbud

The Sony MDR-XB50AP are among the most popular bass-head earbuds in the market.  You receive well-made, dependable, and decent earbuds for less than what you would pay for its competitors. Here’s what it has to offer:

Fits comfortable and not heavy

The Sony MDR-XB50AP may appear heavy due to its size. Even though they are rather large, this is not the case. They are quite light and may move about freely once you’ve put them in. However, size could be an issue when the buds poke out and become unpleasant. When you sleep on your side, for instance, it becomes unpleasant and uncomfortable to handle.

Noise isolation gives you a good listening experience

The Sony MDR-XB50AP provides decent passive noise isolation when preventing ambient noise. Remember that the better it is prevented, the tighter the fit. Silicone earbuds are usually good for creating an airtight fit. However, always choose the correct size that will fit your ears. Smaller tips cause the earphones to leak more noise both inside and outside. Furthermore, because the bass escapes from the ear due to the poor fit, you lose the previously stated bass.

Ergonomic design and solid build gives it good durability

The Sony MDR-XB50AP has a robust build quality and an ergonomic design comprised of high-grade plastics and aluminum. You don’t have to worry about it becoming less responsive on one ear.  This is a high-quality product which will last you for the long-term.

18. Sennheiser IE 800 S

Sennheiser has definitely set a new benchmark for its in-ear earphones portfolio with this pair of Sennheiser IE 800 S. Here is what is has to offer:

Way better performance

Senheiser has definitely improved their game and made some refinements that are impossible to ignore. They incorporated tried-and-tested design elements such as the D2CA (double chamber absorber system) used to minimize masking effects, and 7mm XWB (extra-wide band converters) – which are both installed in the earphones. Overall, the technical specifications of these headphones are rather impressive.

Looks sleek

Excluding the two absorber chambers found on the rear side, this lightweight 8-gram receiver is aesthetically discreet. Overall, it’s one of the most subtle models I’ve seen in quite some time. To be honest, I’m not aware of any other in-ear headphones that cost about 800 dollars that looked so understated.

Comfortable in-ear earpiece

The right and left earpieces are distinguished by a small red marking on the cable outlet. This is especially essential because the thin housings have been shaped to fit the natural curve of the ear.

As a result, they lean slightly inwards as they approach the ear. The thin ceramic shell can also bend and allow the IE 800 S to be easily placed right into the ear canal. Because of their unique design and lightweight make, these headphones provide really amazing levels of comfort.

Quality sound is worth the purchase

With such expensive purchases, even an experienced tester will be pleased with what this set of earphones from Sennheiser has to offer when it comes to sound. The IE 800 S has a perfect sound which comes with a simple design meant to play music. Expect a clear, wideband sound that has a very pleasant tone that emphasizes on being warm. This means the sound focuses on bass and mid-range, as opposed to highs. This makes the entire experience to have these Sennheiser headphones a joy even if you wear it hours on end.

19. ISOtunes PRO 2.0 Bluetooth Earplug Headphones
Many OEMs market in-ear headphones to be noise-cancelling or noise-isolating. However, they are frequently vague about how much of that you will truly receive. Haven Technologies, the business behind ISOtunes, focuses on lab-tested earplug headphones with an NRR (noise reduction rating) as a hearing protector. Here’s what the ISOtunes Pro 2.0 has to offer:

How well do they reduce noise?

The ear tips basically serve as earplugs and, as such, rely on effectively closing the ear canal to isolate sounds. They lack active noise cancellation for hearing protection. I have used them numerous times with silicon ear tips and memory foam tips over the course of a few weeks.

The ISOtones PRO Bluetooth earphones with foam tips did not actually block enough noise for me to utilize in a noisy area when hearing protection was necessary. However, with triple-flange ear tips, you can achieve great noise reduction with the ISOtunes, and only when they have been inserted as thoroughly as possible.

How does it sound though?

Using the triple-flange tips was the most effective noise-cancellation configuration. These tips give a good bass but just lack small details while in higher frequencies. When it comes to podcasts and audiobooks, it sounds amazing. Generally, the sound quality is enough for usage in a noisy setting if the headphones block enough noise and are useful as a hearing protector. You wouldn’t hear the finer nuances in that type of atmosphere anyhow.
