Unique Ribbon mic that has its own built in pre-amp which uses phantom power. "...it has seen a lot of use. For the money, it's great, and in general it just does what you want a ribbon to do - rounds off the top end on sources that could be abrasive or shrill, and sounds very natural. Often gets used for female vocals, particularly if there are sibilance issues, or hand percussion, and did a particularly fine job recently layering up multiple violin passes - sounded like the Wizard of Oz, much syrup! Have also used it successfully on acoustic guitars that were too zingy, and it's a nice room or FOK mic for drums - picks out the meat of the snare well, with not too much cymbal."
